Dr. Avi Jagathpal

Graduated as a dentist from the University of the Witwatersrand in 2005, having received the best student in removable prosthetics award, the best student in fixed prosthodontics award, the SADA award for the best final year student in operative dentistry, the Fred Hossack prize for most promising final year student in clinical prosthodontics, and was admitted to The Golden Key International Honour Society.
He began private practice in 2008 and in 2013, Dr Jagathpal completed a Post-Graduate Diploma in Interceptive orthodontics at the University of the Western Cape. He began his career in Prosthodontics in January 2014, completed his residency at the University of Pretoria, and qualified as a specialist in Prosthodontics cum laude in December 2017. Shortly after graduating, he opened his private practice in Menlyn, Pretoria.
Dr. Avi has lectured in Switzerland, The Netherlands, Portugal, Chile, Zimbabwe, Namibia and all over South Africa. He also remains linked to the University of Pretoria as a clinical supervisor, teaching the dentists of tomorrow.
He is a member of the International College of Prosthodontics, is part of the leadership of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) Southern Africa Section, an executive member of The Academy of Prosthodontics South Africa, a member of the South African Dental Association and a key opinion leader for several national and international companies.
While Dr Avi is extremely passionate about working with his hands to change peoples’ smiles, he remains grounded in teaching and firmly believes in the sharing of knowledge to grow the profession.
